Johnson & Johnson will not sell the talc-based baby powder in 2023
The company has already stopped selling in the United States and Canada since 2020
The reason is tens of thousands of lawsuits filed by women who have developed ovarian cancer after using regular talcum powder.
The company says it remains confident in the safety of the product.
But recently the company announced that they will stop selling talc-based powder around the world next year.
Many talcum powder companies have put warning labels on their products.
Some scientific studies have revealed that women have an increased risk of ovarian cancer, but others do not.
A St. Louis jury delivered a $4.7 billion verdict against the company in 2018.
